【Story Summary】
Dolls dancing in battle, adults driven by revenge—the stage revolves. (Il Teatrino)
The setting is a certain European city. The public interest corporation "Social Welfare Corporation"—
Ostensibly a project sponsored by the Prime Minister's Office to support people with disabilities, this organization is actually an intelligence agency that secretly eliminates forces hostile to the government by giving dying girls mechanical bodies and "conditioning" them.
These girls, who have become "cyborgs" in exchange for their lives, each have a dedicated officer, and because they always act together, they are called siblings (Fratello).
For these girls, whose memories of their time as living beings have been sealed away by "conditioning," following their officer's orders and fighting with a gun is their greatest happiness.
The ensemble drama, in which the pasts and feelings of those on the social welfare corporation side, such as the cyborgs and their handlers, and those on the opposing Five Republics side, intertwine like intricate threads, inevitably leads towards a tragic climax.

The second TV animation series based on Yu Aida's popular comic. The first season of this series is a fantastical violence action series brought to you with a completely new production studio, staff, and cast. Episode 1, "The Distance Between Two: Siblings," is included. The Italian Prime Minister's office has secretly established an extra-legal intelligence agency called the "Social Welfare Agency." There, officers and cyborgs called "prosthetic bodies" form pairs called siblings (Fratello) to carry out covert missions. The Fratello, Jose (Kozo Mito) and Henrietta (Kana Akutsu), suppressed terrorists from the Five Republics faction, who were hostile to the government, in Rome. And that night... This time, we're only introducing the setting and other details. The original author himself is in charge of the script and series composition, but the anime itself, including the art style, is so different from the previous work that it certainly takes time to get used to. It's still early in the series, so we'll avoid drawing any conclusions, but it seems best to approach it as something completely new and different rather than a second season. (Tatsuya Masutou)
