In celebration of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth in 2020, Zimerman has re-recorded Beethoven's complete piano concertos for the first time in nearly 30 years!
The previous recordings were with the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of virtuoso Leonard Bernstein. Bernstein passed away before recordings of the First and Second Concertos were made, so Zimerman himself conducted these two works, completing the complete set. These recordings have earned high praise and popularity among his many recordings.
This new recording features a collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, raising expectations for the pairing of the now mature Zimerman and Rattle.
