Burning them well
Place each candle in a stable, heatproof bowl or vessel filled with water, then light the wick once the candle is floating level. Keep the vessel away from draughts, curtains and anything loose or flammable.
Each large candle has a burn time of around 7 to 8 hours. Extinguish carefully and allow the wax and water to cool before handling or cleaning the vessel.
