Nankai Electric Railway is a railway company connecting Namba in Osaka with destinations in Wakayama, Koyasan, and Kansai International Airport.
Founded in December 1885, it is Japan's oldest private railway company.
The 6000 series is a train with 72 carriages manufactured between 1962 and 1969 to increase the capacity of the Nankai Koya Line.
This series was the first for Nankai Electric Railway to feature an all-stainless steel body.
Since then, after undergoing air conditioning modifications, bogie replacements, and partial body renewals, the trains remain in service, albeit in reduced numbers, as of 2024.
In September 2023, six carriages, including the 6001 train, will be restored to their unpainted appearance as "nostalgic stainless steel unpainted" carriages and put into operation.
By using a separately sold power unit and N gauge running parts, the trains can be operated as an N gauge model train.
We recommend the TM-08R (20m class A) power unit, TT-04R running parts set, and PT4811N [0258] pantograph.
