Diatomaceous earth has countless tiny pores, making it very lightweight and capable of absorbing large amounts of moisture. Furthermore, its self-breathing properties mean that once a certain amount of absorbed moisture is reached, it is naturally released as water vapor.
You can maintain a dry surface without the hassle of draining water every time.
Even after prolonged use, you can restore its water absorption capacity by lightly sanding the surface with commercially available sandpaper (around 400 grit).
Includes a draining pocket for spoons and chopsticks.
With dividers, you can store and dry items separately for efficient use.
Caution: Diatomaceous earth trays are fragile. Dropping or bumping them can cause them to break. Please handle with care.
When using for the first time, the diatomaceous earth tray may have an odor, but this is due to the diatomaceous earth's components and is not a problem. The odor will fade with use.
For optimal comfort, air-dry the mat once or twice a week.
