Green Leaf Chinese Tea Tai Ping Hou Kui (Monkey King) Taiping Houkui

Taiping Sun Wukong was first produced in the rear pit of Anhui, named after its main place of origin—Taiping County, which is now known as the Huangshan District in Huangshan City. The name "Hou Kui Cha" is a combination of its producer and origin. The term "Hou" refers to Houhan Village, where the highest grade of this tea is produced, and the word "Kui" refers to the tea producer Wang Kuicheng, who around 1900 improved the processing of the local green tea 'Sharp Tea' and popularized this tea. Taiping Sun Wukong has been renowned worldwide since 1915, when it won a gold medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition.

The appearance of the tea is flat and straight. The buds are covered by two green leaves. The green veins of the leaves, hidden with red, are called "red threads" by the locals.
