"Halfen" once stood on the border of three states and prospered through mining and trade. A mysterious disaster strikes this peaceful town, wiping out most of its residents. The town becomes a forbidden area, and entry is restricted to all but investigators dispatched from the royal capital.

As time passes, the town's lockdown is lifted and a reconstruction plan is launched. With this, a girl and a boy who were once driven out of their hometown grow up and return home with their own dreams in their hearts. One to reclaim the store left behind by their missing grandfather. The other to investigate the belongings left behind by their father. And they share a common goal: to investigate the cause of their people's disappearances.

They meet in their hometown and set out together to find the truth. Unbeknownst to them, an unexpected encounter and truth await them...
