Moon Colony Disaster is a card game with engine-building and engine-loss mechanics, featuring dark humor created by Donald X. Vaccarino.

In Moon Colony Disaster, players take on the role of scientists dedicated to relocating to a lunar city.

The game involves all players sharing a "Progress Deck" which is revealed card by card, with everyone following the instructions on the face-up card simultaneously.

"Troubles" affect all players equally, while "Labor" allows each player to choose one action from "Replenishment," "Construction," "Research," "Farming," or "Mining."

Players earn money to build structures, secure residents, and supply food to sustain their colony. They then replenish new building cards, repeating this cycle.

Each building has unique abilities beyond resident accommodation, and the more buildings you construct, the more your colony's population grows and develops.

However, the initial "Progress Deck" starts with only a few cards, but as "Troubles" and "Events" occur, it becomes increasingly dangerous for the colony residents. Eventually, robots cause troubles that destroy buildings, and the residents you worked hard to gather begin to die.

The game ends when a player's colony runs out of residents or when the event deck is exhausted. The player with the most survivors wins.
